Resveratrol and Energy

The promised benefits of the red wince extract Resveratrol are making research labs in the academe and drug companies busy to confirm the therapeutic properties that have made it the wonder drug of the century, long before tests have been made on humans to determine the proper concentrates.

Found mostly in red wines, red grape juices, grape skins and seeds as well as raspberries and the Japanese Knotweed seeds, Resveratrol has found its way to commercial use with hundreds of brands offering diet food supplements containing the substance in various concentrations and prices.

Research Results: Resveratrol vs Energy

The research team at the Institute of Genetics, Molecular and cellular Biology in France headed by Dr. Auwerx has revealed its findings that lab rats supplemented with a dose of Resveratrol in their diet showed increased energy levels so they can run twice as fast as the mice without the substance in a control group. It was further observed that the same mice grew more body muscles and has lower pulse rate during activities - a health condition commonly found in trained human athletes.

Further clinical investigation revealed increased mitochondrial activity account for the increased muscle cells of Resveratrol-infused lab rats.  Mitochondria form the organelles in body cells that account for body energy. Increased mitochondria in Resveratrol supplemented mice enable them to burn additional fat without added weight.

While the compelling clinical results suggest that Resveratrol promise another health benefit for boosting energy levels, determining the proper concentration and dosage is profoundly critical in duplicating the results when applied to human subjects. The research used high doses of Resveratrol doses in mice. The proper dose for humans has yet to wait until the right clinical trials on human subjects have confirmed what concentration levels are needed to get the same results.
